Machine Contruction

Venture Vertical Machining Centers are built with two widely accepted styles of construction; "Roller Linear Guide Ways" or "Box Way." The strength of the Venture VMC is our cast iron machine frame. The standard Venture VMC is a solid C-Frame design with a wide base. The Meehanite cast iron base and column is engineered with a heavily ribbed cast construction. This heavily dampened machine frame design allows for intense machining with either the roller linear way or box way machine version.

Some engineers have different schools of philosophy when it comes to linear guides vs. box ways. While the design and strength of the Roller Linear Way system supplies similar vibration dampening as box ways, it allows for faster rapids and shorter cycle times. For the engineers that want the traditional box way design for heavy metal removal, we offer an array of 40 & 50 taper machines with large flame hardened box ways in all three axis to cover their manufacturing requirements.
